The team in the IN2P3 phonebook

The FIIRST team groups a large number of researchers of the nuclear pole around the topics of nuclear spectroscopy, low-energy experimental techniques (ion-trap mass spectrometry, laser spectroscopy, low-temperature nuclear orientation) and the production of radioactive ion beams by the ISOL method. An important part of the team’s activity takes place on the ALTO platform, exploiting both the Tandem accelerator and the photofission source driven by the electron LINAC. Furthermore, members of the team contribute to the radioactive-ion-beam production capabilities of ALTO-LEB, both through the development of ISOL targets and ion source systems by the operation of the laser ion source RIALTO. At the same time, our researchers contribute to the experimental programs of international facilities such as ISOLDE at CERN and IGISOL at Jyväskylä and participate in the development work for the future experimental installations at SPIRAL2-GANIL (S3-LEB and DESIR).
